Oregon, ABD‘de yaşayan dövme sanatçısı Alice Carrier, çok eski botanik kitaplarında görebileceğiniz türden desenleri seviyor. Koyu, soluk renkler ve geleneksel çizgilerle yaptığı bitki dövmeleri tıpkı o ders kitaplarında karşınıza çıkacak cinsten… Kendini “kış gündönümünde doğmuş, solak ve Salem cadılarının soyundan gelme” kelimeleriyle tanımlayan Carrier, doğa temasına duyduğu ilginin de bu etkenler sonucu ortaya çıktığını söylüyor. Geleneksel desenleri modern bir estetikle harmanlayan Carrier’ın dövmelerine ba-yıl-dık.
